In short
This website sets no cookies, counts no visitors and loads nothing from other servers. I don’t learn who reads it. The only thing technically needed is what every website needs: your browser asks for the pages, and the server that delivers them sees your IP address.
This is a translation of the German privacy policy, which is the binding version.

2. Delivering the website and the downloads
This website and the downloads are delivered by Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). When you open a page or download a file, Cloudflare processes the data your browser sends with every request: IP address, date and time, the address requested, the page you came from, browser, operating system and language setting. Cloudflare needs this data to deliver the website and to protect it from attacks.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; my legitimate interest is a secure, fast and reliable website. A data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR) including the EU Standard Contractual Clauses is in place with Cloudflare. Cloudflare is also certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, so transfers to the USA are covered by the European Commission’s adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR).
I keep no access logs myself. Cloudflare only shows me totals, such as how many pages were requested – no individual visitors. More in Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
3. No cookies, no analytics
This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising or tracking services. Fonts and scripts are served from the same server as the pages; nothing is loaded from other providers.
4. What your browser remembers
If you choose “Paper” or “Ink” or a language at the top, your browser remembers that choice in its local storage (localStorage, entries “privoscribe-theme” and “privoscribe-lang”), so it applies on your next visit. These entries never leave your browser, and you can delete them at any time in your browser’s settings. They are strictly necessary for the function you explicitly asked for (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG).
5. Language
On your first visit the website shows German or English, depending on the language your browser announces. Your browser decides this itself; nothing is stored or sent for it.
6. Microphone – only if you want
At the top of the home page you can move the line with your own microphone. Only when you click “Use my microphone” does your browser ask for permission. Then only the loudness is measured – in your browser – to move the line. Nothing is recorded, stored or sent. A second click switches the microphone off again.
7. Links to other websites
Other websites, such as Hugging Face or GitHub, are only linked. Your browser connects to another provider only when you follow such a link; their privacy policy applies there.
8. Email
If you email me, I process your address and your message to reply (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR) and delete both once they are no longer needed.
9. Contact form
If you write to me through the contact form, your message goes to me as an email via Cloudflare (see 2.), together with what you choose and enter there – topic, app, version, Windows, text and, only if you give it, your email address. It is not stored on the website or at Cloudflare on the way; afterwards it is only in my mailbox. Without an email address you stay anonymous – I just can’t reply then.
Against spam, the form has a field people never see, it notes when the page was opened, and only a few messages a minute get through in total. Nothing about you is stored for this.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your use of the apps is concerned, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; my legitimate interest is answering questions, fixing bugs and improving the apps. I delete the message once it is dealt with and no longer needed.
10. The apps
Privoscribe and Privoscribe AI run on your PC. What you say and write stays there; the apps send me none of it. They go online in only three cases:
- Installing: the setup file asks privoscribe.com for the current installer and downloads it from there (via Cloudflare, see 2.). The installer downloads the parts your PC needs directly from their providers: GitHub (GitHub, Inc., USA), PyPI (Python Software Foundation, USA) and Hugging Face (Hugging Face, Inc., USA). The offline package downloads nothing.
- AI model: Privoscribe AI downloads the model from Hugging Face when you start the download.
- Updates: as long as “Check for updates” is on (the default), the app requests the file privoscribe.com/update.json about once a day. Cloudflare (see 2.) sees your IP address, the time and the app’s version; nothing else is sent. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; my legitimate interest is being able to tell you about new versions and fixes. You can switch it off at any time in the app’s settings.
Like any server, GitHub, PyPI and Hugging Face see your IP address; their own privacy policies apply.
11. Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing (Art. 21). Just send me an email. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR).
